Enough attacks will cause the Phial Meter next to the player's Sharpness Meter to glow yellow, then red.The player can attack with a morph-to-axe attack immediately after blocking. The weapon will automatically block at the end of a Roundslash attack, and at the beginning of a morph-to-axe attack.Sword Mode is primarily used for building up energy. ![]() The weapon is unsheathed in this mode by default. The Charge Blade is well known for its versatility and high skill ceiling, being well applicable to a myriad of situations via its two modes. In MH4U, the shield itself can also be charged for a damage bonus, and enables the destructive Super Amped Element Discharge (colloquially referred to as the "Ultra Burst"). Once enough energy has been charged, it can be stored in the shield, and the hunter can use powerful explosive attacks in the slower but stronger Axe Mode. This mode is primarily used for charging up energy. In Sword mode it functions similarly to Sword and Shield, wielding a sword and a large shield for blocking that is relatively quick. Unlike the Switch Axe however, the user starts in a sword mode by default and each mode functions very different from the Switch Axe. ![]() This weapon is somewhat similar to the Switch Axe, with the ability to switch between two different weapon modes: the Sword Mode and the Axe Mode. Apply the standard progression by memorising three attack moves first, master them and then move on. Though keep in mind: you do not need to learn everything at once when you learn a new weapon. The rest is a matter of training and experience, while knowing every move at your disposal. I can only point you to the timestamp 28:58 where you can see how when the battle starts the charge flow goes. About the terminology, it is up to the mentor, and if the game decides to translate it like that, I do not mind since I learned from the first game which has the Charge Blade without the English translations. ![]() Probably best you consult with someone who is more familiar with Xbox / Playstation controls. I think the one mistake I have been making is that, to transfer, I have been holding B + Right Trigger thinking that B was A equivalent for my game pad but I'm probably meant to hold Right Trigger + A (Dodge) I'm using the Logitech F710 - it's exactly like the Xbox game pad but instead of just two shoulder buttons I also have two triggers (like a Playstation game pad) In fact, it is much easier for you to look it up in the ingame manual. Tell first what layout you are using ~ otherwise it is of little use to you if I tell you. ![]()
